Press Release – The finals of the Horlicks Inter-school tennis tournament organized by Perfect Strokes was held on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Karachi Gymkhana. Hockey defender, penalty corner specialist and former captain of the Pakistan Hockey Team, Sohail Abbas was present as Chief guest for the evening.
The tournament was part of a series of tournaments organized every year by Razia Babar and Nabil Hoodbhoy of Perfect Strokes as part of the school tennis initiative programme in Karachi. The idea behind this series of tournaments is to promote tennis at the grass roots level as well to identify, nurture and develop talent from around the country. This edition saw an increase in number of teams participating from 21 in the February event to 30 in the current event.
Results
Under 15 Age Group
Foundation Public School rode winners against Karachi Grammar School. This match went into a decider where Foundation Public School prevailed after a titanic battle in the doubles.
16-18 Age Group
Nixor College emerged triumphant over Karachi Grammar School with Ibrahim hitting some outstanding winners and showcasing great court angles to win over their opponents.
